I love Miami . It's not as up market as the big high rise areas but to me it's slightly out of the hustle and bustle of Surfers. The beach there is good and super walks along the water front and over the hill to North Burleigh . There's some good places to stay there and Nobbys beach next to it is very popular just along the road a bit towards Surfers is hedges avenue where houses sell for many millions of Dollars then another couple of ks north of there is Kurrawa beach which is accross the road from the casino and Convention centre . Go for a meal at the kurrawa surf club then take the monorail over the highway and back just $2 . Wander around the Oasis shopping centre and opposite that is a smaller shopping centre called Neicon plaza walk in there and see the big bronze statue of the man from Snowy river on horse back surrounded by some amazing opal and Banjo pattersons poem is written out there. Very interesting for the boys and not a lot of people know it's there. If you go to harbour town shopping get off at the Grand Hotel Labrador wander along the Broadwater buy some fish and chips for lunch then just after 12 Charis fish and chip shop feed the pelicans they come into the safe swimming spot there. You could do a day trip to South stradbroke island Couran point and you book and get the boat from Marina Mirage and can use the facilities at the resort. Lunch is in with the price. also Currumbin wildlife sanctuary is a good day out. A rental car would be handy for some of the time you are there . The buses run regular along the highway. You will see any amount of leaflets advertiseing various things to do on The Gold Coast. You could get the train to Brisbane and wander around South Bank , thats a good day out at the weekends there are markets then we have markets on the gold Coast as well Friday night along the esplanade at Surfers . there are some at Kurrawa and Burleigh about once a month . Also the Carrara markets at the weekend. Take a wander around pacific fair as well. There's a great little bakery at nobbys beach
