The Gold coast sits on the eastern coast of Australia in the Queensland State. It is an area which is thriving economically, primarily due to its thriving tourist industry attracting close to 4 million visitors every year. The city and region is defined by its diversity, from large stretches of isolated beaches, to the busy populated Skyline beaches of Surfers Paradise to lush rainforests in Lamington and Spring brook National Park. It is a great holiday destination with a guaranteed 300 days of sunshine annually; it makes a refreshing break from the Irish weather.

It is a destination, covering over 1300km2 and the sixth most populous city in Australia. The city and region are hugely popular as the region is known as one of the most beautiful in Australia and the city boasts an array of great beaches, surfing, shopping, nightlife and dining.
